Well if she still wanted more than she was fine.
Good for you for giving her a chance to be and normal kid and not treating her like she is broken! I bet she loved it even the burn.

I know but the poor thing has been through sooooo much. She truely has. I know why she didn't tell me about the burn...she knew I would make her stop :(

That is sad. I got burned by those sparklers and still went back for more. It was not a serious burn but like a really mean mosquito. It is probably because they have no control over her illness that is making them overreact. Poop happens. Accidents are just that... accidents. No one is to blame.

But it's a sparkler! Those things don't burn that bad do they? I understand you feeling bad, but it was just an accident and you were just trying to let her have fun! Maybe send a card to express to the SIL how sorry you are so you can get it off your chest??

I am the most emotionally charged person I know, so... yeah. My husband will just look at me a certain way and I'll burst into tears. And unfortunately my 2 1/2 year old inherited that! SO not looking forward to the teen years...

I do and I don't know how to change it I let so much go and then just explode one day. I don't like it one bit but don't know what to do about it. I am extremely positive and outgoing and I think most people are threatened by that and like to be mean just out of spite sometimes. I used to be able to win anyone over but have just lost that along the way. I am trying to get it back I guess I need to be more patient but heck sometimes that just doesn't work when u deal with mean people.

I take things way too persoanlly at home. I'm a bit of a drama queen and sometimes I over think things, take them the wrong way or think things are worse than they really are. I'm not sure why I do this, and I wish I would relax a bit.

I do the same thing, although I try to hold back and I can't it just replays over and over in my head

I always take things too personally. I always feel bad if something doesn't work out right, even if it's not my fault!
I would feel horrible too about your niece, but you know what? Things happen. You SIL shouldn't have gotten pissed. I would of been upset if someone burned my son, but I wouldn't make them feel bad for it (I would be pissed at home, venting in front of my hubby HA).
It will be fine. :)

hehe mines a bit more personal, as in family personal.
I'm the fireworks Queen, the only aunt that brings them and yesterday I promised the kids I would bring them. My niece just had a bone marrow transplant, and she can't have and do certain things. Well, she burned herself on a damn sparkler, nothing major, but for her it is if it were to get infected. My SIL was PISSED everyone got upset and of course I just felt terrible. Not everyone, select few. So I've been thinking about it since it happened. Stupid, I shouldn't have let her hold it, etc....etc... Ugh, I just feel bad, I know she's fine but it could have been serious....
I do get upset if someone personally attacks me too, as in.... say a thread.....

Sometimes I do, sometime I can just shake it off. Depends the mood and what they are personally attacking.

I get offended when people on threads about child safety harnesses start calling other Mums lazy and cruel for using them. I feel as though I am being personally attacked.

I admit that I will, too. I avoid certain subjects, but sometimes people can really shock you on a post where you really wouldn't expect it.
