After work, I went to the sitter's to pick up Sam. She came to the door carrying him, and he got this gigantic, two-toothed grin on his face, and then looked at the sitter as though to say, "Holy crap, Mom's here! Yay!" Then as soon as he was in my arms, he gave me one of those sloppy kisses like what Lisa was talking about. What a nice way to end the day! ♥

my daughter saying "hi" instead of "trick or treat" and "bye" instead of "thank-you" when we went out for halloween tonight. she's 19months and was Ming-Ming from the wonder pets. she also would "quack" every time someone said the work duck.

Darn it I replied and then it went missing!
Yeah it was very exciting! Then there was all this anticipation for night 2... would he sleep through again??? I reckon the pressure was too much for him and he caved and had a baaaad night!! Fingers crossed for tonight!

Yay how exciting!!! Not long :D
My good news is that my 13 month old is fully weaned off breast feeding now and slept through the night for the first time ever last night! Was asleep from 9:30 pm til 7:30 am!! I kept waking up thinking he would wake up at any second! I hope he keeps it up...
We went to the mall last night and walked by the Build-a-Bear Workshop... Shawn walked right in so we let him choose a bear. He got a fuzzy blue teddy bear like the one my husband inherited from his grand-mother. He hugs it, kisses it and tells it story. It's just so adorable to see him being so loving.

Hey guys, a month without a post in here? Have our days been THAT bad?! :P
My good thing today... My daughter using one breath to explain her morning at preschool... sounded like "eatlunch-peepeepotty-paintartshow-playplayground-read2books-eatapplecupcakes-birthdaycrown." It was adorable.

I'm due October 25th :)
For my 1 hour test they let me take the drink home and told me to put it in the fridge before drinking it. That one was easy to drink! But for the 3 hour I had to drink it warm, and it was so disgusting. But cold wasn't bad at all!
Though I don't think I can ever drink orange soda again.

Joanna, when are you due? Sorry if I've asked before!! Congrats on passing the glucose test. Is it weird that I liked that drink you have to drink? heehee
I love watching my 2-weeks-away-from-being-1-year-old play with his toys. I love how excited he gets by simple things like hitting 2 toys together and making a sound. Sometimes when he's sleeping, my husband and I talk about something funny he did that day and then we'll both have to restrain ourselves from running into his room and waking him up so we can play with him hehe. I'm sure he wouldn't be as happy to see us as we would be seeing him.

Ohh man I need a camera too!! Ours broke ages ago! Thank God for phone cameras :)
Baylee has started waving at everyone too. Love it! Usually people wave back and if they don't he just keeps waving. He's going to be one year old in a few weeks. Sniff sniff my baby is growing up!
I got my new digital camera delivered last night :) After almost 4 months of not having one I can finally take pictures of my little guy. I"m so excited.
This morning I missed the bus to go to work. So my husband brought me to the c-train station with my son. I was SOOO happy to spend time with them as they are usually still in bed when I leave.

After my bath I was laying in bed naked (had to let the cocoa butter soak in), and Paige and my husband came up because he was going to give her a shower. We all just hung out on the bed for about 5 minutes talking and playing.
Then Paige put her mouth on my belly and said "I love you baby sister!" Which was adorable.
And then, she put her face right by my boobs and said "I love you, boobies!"
Haha, I don't know why, she does not have a close relationship with my boobs, so it was just hilarious to me.
My son woke up at 4am because I had forgotten to close his bedroom window and he was cold. I brought him to bed with us and for the whole hour before my alarm clock went off, he talked and talked and talked... I tried to tell him it was early and we needed to sleep.. that didn't work. I tried ignoring him which resulted in: "Mom, mommy, MOOOOMM, maman, mommomomom."
I couldn't help but smile. He wants to spend as much time as he can with me because I normally leave for work before he wakes up. I just love him so much.
My little guy has been whinny and not wanting to speak or use sign language... he would just scream, cry or throw a tantrum... even though he speaks very well and can use some sign language...
Yesterday he asked for EVERYTHING with words and signs. No tantrums, no fussing. Plus, he held my hand while we were talking a walk (which he had always refused to do before). It made me all mushy on the inside.

Awhile back, our head of media relations approached my boss about contracting someone to write an article for our quarterly magazine. I got wind of it, and even though I've only been here for three months and knew NOTHING about the subject matter, I begged them to let me write it. Anyway, they decided to take a chance on me. I worked my arse off on it, and today, the head got back to me and said that I'd done a really good job on it. Plus, I'm getting my very first byline!
My baby boy finally said Mom today - he looked straight at me and said abab boo be mom! Then about 10 mins after said momomomomom and then about an hour after I said momomomom and he copied me :-) I know I know but he has been saying daddy for over a month now almost constantly - and even understands that his dad is daddy because he calls him when he leaves the room etc. That made my day just the best *warm fuzzy feeling*

Useful kid you've got there, Katherine!
My husband stayed home with our baby, who has an ear infection, and he managed perfectly well. I think it gave him even more confidence in his parenting skills.
And when I got home, Sam crawled over to me as fast as he could, raised his arms for me to pick him up, and then planted a big, wet, drooly baby kiss on my chin.

id have to say that the thing that made my day is when keegan (my son) woke up this morning i went to get him and get his breakfast ready (oatmeal, bananas, and of course his favorite, the bottle) lol. i picked him up and said good morning keegan did you sleep well, he looks at me smiles and opens his mouth and plants it on my chin. for some reason that's where he kisses me, it was so cute. im a first time mom so everything is amazing to me.

My 15mo will not sleep. It takes me about 5 tries(I don't do CIO). So I brought her down AGAIN and she wanted an apple. So she and I sat on a chair and shared an apple together. It was quite the bonding experience. She's getting all of her teeth at once so it must have felt good. She held the apple, took a bite and then it was my turn. The whole thing took about 30 minutes lol. It was great though, epic if you will.
That is awesome, Joanna!
Well it wasn't today but anyway. My son talks A LOT and he speaks more clearly by the day... Anyway, I told my husband that I wish Shawn would say mommy more often (he barely had said it in months...). Well I guess he must have heard me when I say that because now he won't stop. lol
"mom, mom,mom,mom, MOOOOoooOOOm, mommy, maman,maman,..."
When it gets a little excessive, I think of this and it makes my day everytime:

I have a very big thing that made my day today...
We were running errands for almost 4 hours. It was only supposed to be 2 (but my doctor appointment was a looooot of waiting, and then I realized I forgot something at the grocery store so had to go back), so I put Paige in just her big girl panties. I've only ever gone out of the house for maybe half an hour and let her wear just big girl panties, so this was a big undertaking - or so I thought.
Paige did GREAT. She let me know each time she had to use the bathroom, and she went 4 out of the 5 times she asked to use the restroom, with no accidents!
YAY! I'm so proud of her!!

Making the best apple pie I've ever tasted!!
if you want the recipe... http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/paula...
I even used the pre-made pillsbury pie crusts (I suck at making my own), and just used the filling recipe, and for the apples I used 3 golden delicious and 3 fuji. Sooooo good!
