When do you change your baby's diaper

I always change my son's diaper before I feed him, my mother in law asked why I do this because I know that he is going to poop about an hour after I feed him. That got me thinking what do other people do. I change him then because I don't always hear him poop (he is a very loud pooper) and I sometimes have a hard time telling if he is wet or not. So I change him before I feed him so I know that he is getting a clean diaper at least 6 times a day. Normally it's more than that but it is at least that many times. So what do others do, are you like me and change them at a set time or just whenever you happen to notice they are wet/poopy?

When they get up, if they poo between then and nap time if not right ebfore nap, after nap if they are wet, before bed/new nappy after bath.

Usually I wait about 30minutes after they wake up (they almost always wake up dry, so I wait for their morning pee), then as I see/smell it during the day.
My youngest always gets a clean diaper before her nap, and both get clean diapers before bed. My boy (oldest) is currently potty training, so atm, diaper changes, except for at night, are pretty non existent. My girl (17mo) gets changed about 3-6 times a time, as needed. If she takes her diaper off (which she sometimes does when she's wet) she gets a clean diaper put on. Sometimes it's a super little wet, but I still change her to reinforce being dry, which I found helped with my son.

No more diapers for a LONG time!! But... shortly after a poop, of course (try to wait long enough to make sure they're done)... and when getting too soggy. I would never change for just one pee. That would've been a big waste of diaper money. ;)

Of course, a new diaper before bed and change in the morning.

If I recall, I would change them first thing in the morning, after naps, before bed and then when they were wet or dirty throughout the day. I would usaully check every hr to see if they were wet.

I also got in this habit because when I would help my aunt with her triplets that's what she did. I kind of modeled what I do with my son with how she did things just because they were the newest babies that I had been around before my son was born. Like I said I'm just curious now what other people do.

as my "bub" is 28mths i change him when hes had breakfast n milk, unless its a over full nighttime nappy, then he usually gets changed 2 times at day care and 2 times b4 bed and always has a dry one on 4 the night time, but when he was younger and sometimes now he gets really bad nappy rash so it was very regular probably 7-8 times during the day and at night maybe once or twice depending on its soggy ness...
i think your method is a good one and if it works for you then yay ;)
