Donna, yeah that was me. I have told that story a couple of times on CoM, when the "no leash" people get up in arms. And yes I work with babies who wont sleep. Right now I have a client who is texting me practically every time her baby breathes, phone is beeping constantly! I think I should have charged this one more than I originally thought. What part of "I am contactable 7am to 7pm Monday to Saturday" means its ok to text at 3am? - Oh, there goes the phone again! LOL :) Sorry totally off topic :)

Yesterday my husband was doing some yard work, poked his head in and said "you ready to go to the store?" I said "alright", so I turned off the TV and went to get dressed. Well, I was doing my face paint (makeup) and I heard the TV playing, but I still heard my husband outside. I glanced around the corner and it was a show about exorcisms with creepy music playing. I got freaked out a little, then walked on in the room to find...........my husband sitting in the chair! He came in the backdoor without me knowing!! The noise I heard outside was the construction going on next door. I told my husband he about scared the crap outta me!!! LOL

Oh wow, was that YOU?! How DARE you say yanks are money hungry!! As a yank, I'm deeply offended and going to go eat some peanut butter before I start gathering wood (for my bridge). However, the Aussie that I've become says, "ON YA, Trace!!" My Japanese side remains quiet, smiles politely and nods.

Candi, you have a stalker ghost! How cool!! It must've been a scary experience though.

Renae, I didn't know you worked with sleep problems. I just remember your story on a "leash" thread about rescuing a child from a man who was not related, while the mother was absentmindedly shopping. (at least I'm pretty sure that was you)

Geez, I've really gotta stop being Sally Sunshine so I can get yelled at too!!

I just read Candi's ghost story. Really, if you cant handle that, what are you doing in a thread about ghost stories??? It's a thread about ghosts, its going to get a bit creepy.

Ha ha ha. I've only had a few. Remember the girl asking about whether someone could get arrested for fighting with a pregnant woman and we were all like, ah you shouldn't be associating with people who want to have fist fights! She emailed me about 4 times even though I never replied to one of them.

I also used to post a lot about baby sleep problems (because its what I do for a job) and occasionally people who believe in hardcore cry it out stuff would get offended and PM me. I didn't say they couldn't do it, they can do what they like, I just said I dont use it or recommend it. I always have to wonder if they really feel so good about it then why do they get so defensive. I never replied to them. But I've stopped posting on sleep, cos every time I do I get 10 emails from other people asking for help. I've spent hours and hours helping people and writing programs for free since joining CoM and it was taking too much time away from my work, I should be spending that time drumming up PR and the like. I asked CoM if I could help the easy cases (most waking is normal and they just have to wait for bub to be ready to sleep longer) and direct the ones who really need help to my website only when they ask me for help in a PM but CoM said no, they said to tell them to start a convo and ask for help - problem is most of them have already done that many many times. But it's hard to ignore people asking for help, so I just dont let myself post on sleep stuff anymore and now only get asked maybe once a month.

Sorry, totally got off topic there. Yes, some people take things a little too seriously sometimes I think. It's amusing to read though. :)

I go outside to check all the time, I never even thought of that :S Once a cat got locked in the garage (not our cat we don't have a cat) and it would bang against the wood door and I'd be freaking out that someone was breaking in so I'd turn the light on and unlock the garage door and the cat would hear me coming and hide in the corner under the pool table. It went on for ages and I thought I was mental. Damo eventually found the cat because I made him dig the spare tyres and all this other junk out from under it and by then it had pissed in the cruiser because he had left the windows down to air it out.

LAMO, I have been busy and missed this thread. Candy I can't believe that your post was deleted, yes it would have been scary for you but come on, to read it, really?

I think I would wet my pants if I started hearing ghosts and dead people, holy shit I am such a scardy cat I would be beside myself. I would possibly seek the assistance of a priest for an exorcism!

Emma I hear noises all the time too, I had to see a psychiatrist for it when I was younger. I refused to sleep and when I did I had to booby trap my room and sleep with home made weapons! I had some serious issues as a kid!! I still can't stay in the house by myself, unless I don't sleep. Can I just say you should NEVER go outside to see if there is an intruder!!! and you shouldn't let your hubby either, they could be attacked by the robber/murderer/rapist leaving you and your children vulnerable. Ok that's my mummy advice for the day :)

I hate hate hate when someone writes an "offensive" post and 30 people feel the need to say something to them about how they are rude. It ends up derailing the whole thread and then they're like THAT WAS A PERSONAL ATTACK and it goes on for 1000 posts and all this.

LUCKY! I want angry mail. It makes me laugh. For hours. I mean I always thought CoM was about expressing your opinions, hearing other people's thoughts etc. I never understood, that if someone doesn't like your post why they just can't ignore it. Like when you get (not trying to be offensive here,) a seriously religious person go into a thread about things less religious and complain, lots. >.>; I mean I wish I had that much spare time. :P

I hope my turn comes soon. :3

Wow, that is creepy. I don't know if I believe in them or not, I'm mostly leaning towards not but still have that wonder in my mind. It was years ago when I went and it was just for fun with some girlfriends, not a serious thing, at a carnival and the 2nd time she was a relative of a friend who was a 'professional' psychic. I don't know if she really had a gift or not but she did make alot of money saying she did. ; )

I don't believe in getting my future read. My uncle did though. A few years back, the crazy lady told him if he ever had a white Cchristmas, he wouldn't live long. Christmas 2010 it was snowing. My cousin took a picture of him in front of the window covered in snow. January 28, 2011 he died. Now that is creepy

I did go to another psychic later, a real one, who after meeting me felt so confounded with what she saw she did my reading and her 'witchy works' for free. I can say that my life got better after that BUT I more likely contribute that to becoming an adult and in control of my life and taking steps to achieve my goals. Not bc I coughed for a week after breathing in mass amounts of sage. ; )

Candi- Have you ever been tested for Schizophrenia??? Just kidding!!! ; ) Same thing has happened to me so many times. I once went to a psychic to ask what it was with me, why so many bad things have happened and why I see things and hear things even though I KNOW I'm not crazy. She said I was cursed and that she could remove it, then reached out her hand and said 'That'll be $100'. No thanks lol. Then I'lll be cursed AND broke!

She thought nothing of it and laughed at me. I about wet myself the first time I experienced it. I was only 11 or 12 though, so yeah, I was scared!!

Bahaha that is creepy. One of the rooms in my boyfriend's uncles place locks itself when you shut it. Like those press button locks knobs. And you hear a walking stick fall on the floor in the garage and no one is there and nothing is out of order when you look. Damian's grandfather shot himself on the property somewhere so they all think it's him.

ok ladies. The funny thing is, my story isn't scary, but I guess it offended somebody. Here goes. When I was about 15, my parents moved (again) and I was tired of changing schools, so I asked to stay with my granny. Everything was fine. My granny worked until 9pm, so I was in the country in her "haunted house" all alone. One night while watching TV, I heard footsteps in the kitchen. It sounded like someone wearing cowboy boots (if you are familiar with them, you know what they sound like). They walked to the kitchen table, stopped, then left. Ii never heard a door though. Thinking it was the neighbor, I looked out of the kitchen window and saw nothing and noted the neighbor's car was gone. Then I noticed the door leading outside was locked! Cold chills ran up my spine and I went back to the living room and shut the door. Getting into the TV show again, I hear the footsteps again. Same pattern, walked to the table, stopped, then left. Still I never heard a door shut or open. I didn't even check anything that time. Being scared out of my mind, I wrapped my blanket around me and hid by the end of the couch until my granny got home. I did hear the steps again after I hid. Wwhen my granny got home, I told her the story and she just giggled and said "its ok. We hear and see things all the time." Then one Christmas we were at her house and I took a picture of my boyfriend. Well when we got the pics back, there was a guy standing in front of him! This guy was dressed in a T-shirt, denim jacket and jeans. The kind that would wear boots! Nobody knew who the guy was. A few years after, I actually had a dream about that "ghost guy". Kinda creepy. There were lots of stories I could share, but those are the 2 I posted. See, nothing bad about them

That literally has me lol'ing that a ghost post was deleted! If someone is too child-like to be able to read a ghost story (it's not like it was shuved in someone's face anyway!) then I think they aren't quite mature enough to access the internet. Perhaps mommy should place a child filter on their computer. ; )

Candi, that is funny that your post got deleted because it was too scary. We are all adults with children here. If we can't handle a story that could cause some problems for some down the road. Maybe their imaginations were running away with them lol.

Anyone opening up a thread about ghost stories should realise that the discussion is going to be about ghosts of course and not to open it if they have a history of having trouble deal with the topic of ghosts. I am surprised it was deleted.

Bahahahaha!!!! I read that post! It didnt offend me though bc i saw it as gesting, not serious. I can see how someone could go with it and take it as a racial / demographical insult but to me thats going too far. People need to lighten up! I'm American an it is true, that is a stereotype for us. We all know that stereotypes are dumb bc you cant encompass a whole group / race of people base on the ignorance of a few so I automatically thought you were teasing and didnt give a 2nd thought to it. Am I right?

She doesnt like any Aussies anymore bc she was offended by one? Now who's stereotyping? ; )

I got some nasty messages after commenting on a thread about 'mothering confessions' which was a thread basically bragging about bad mothering behavior. Kind of disgusted me. Some of it was silly little things but a good part of it was negligent criminal behavior. I asked one of the girls a simple question, not implicating or insulting, and another girl lashed out at me bc she thought I was asking her the question. I told her I wasnt talking to her but she kept going and going, couldnt accept that my post had nothing to do with her. And in the end she told me she hopes I get raped and murdered. Nice.

EDIT TO ADD:

And now I see that she's posted ona thread about God saying that God is with her in everything she does and always in her heart, etc. Yeah really? People like that are the ones who give believers a bad name.
