My three year old daughter just got the beginnings of a cold. I'm keeping her home but I don't want her sitting on the sofa watching TV all day long. Are there any easy activities that she could do? She's been working on sandpaper letters and the pink tower at school. Anything I can do at home to kind of keep her on schedule so it's not too much of a jolt when she goes back to school?

Sorry to hear about that :( If your daughter loves school so much that is more of a reason she will not be thrown off track! Also- Montessori is not like traditional schools where they have one big lesson and if the kids miss it they will be alittle behind until they figure it out. In Montessori there is a intro lesson but when the child comes back they get individual lessons and the work is there on the shelves for a while! Good luck with the ear infection.

Thank you for the tips! We went to the doctor and discovered an ear infection (again). She seems to be doing okay so far. I always worry about her missing school just because she loves it so much. Thanks again!

sorry for the late post but some activities for future "home days" are:
building blocks
if she has started working on sand paper letters then she is probably learning m a s t c r i b letters first so i would get the letters on a paper or board and let her play with them and saying the sounds
I would not do to much though- missing a couple of days will not make her off track. Let her enjoy her home time :)
