Should I force him to eat something he doesn't like?

My baby is on solids now and he really doesn't like peas. He has eaten enough for me to distinguish that he doesn't have an allergy. Should I force feed him peas every so often to get him used to different tastes? Or is it fine to ignore the foods he doesn't like?

My opinion is not to force the child. My children don't like cabage or mushrooms or jam and it's ok. They didn't liked it when they first tried it and they still don't. (And Jana is five and hasn't changed). They eat other healthy food (like spinach or brocculi) so it's no big deal if they don't eat something else. Maybe your son really doesn't like the taste of it, so don't force him. It's ok to try to give him the peas occasionally, just for a change and to see if he changed his mind. But don't be surprised if he rejects it again. My mother always says " If your child throws up all the food you forced him to eat then your persistance was useless, he'll be hungry aggain (and frustrated). :)
