Hi, Mandy! And welcome to the group!

As of right now, though, if I were you, I'd just take it easy until you are fully healed and have gone through all of the surgeries that you have to have done. That way you won't lose a bunch of weight only to gain it back during the healing process. In the meantime, I would just eat healthy and do some light exercises, but nothing major at this point. Not until you are healed. Good luck on your weight-loss journey! I hope your surgery went well and that you are recovering quickly!

Hey sorry for the late entry, I'm new on this site as of a few hours ago. My names Mandy and I have a 5 1/2 month baby girl named Acelyn. When I was pregnant I got up to 200lbs. Now I weigh 172lbs. I was doing good losing the weight shortly after Acelyn was born but it seems that I'm at a stand still. I have been researching different ways to lose weight but I'm getting so lost. One site says one way, others say a different. I'm mainly looking for good dieting advise really. I mean I would also like to exercise more, however I am getting over my 3rd surgery since my daughter was born. Anyone have suggestions? I was never a small girl but I look at my body that I had pre-pregnancy and I wish I had it back again.

Hi! My name is Victoria and I have a daughter, Isabella, who is almost 7weeks old. I weighed 130 when i got pregnant and 181 a week before i delivered. I really don't have a desire to get back down to 130. I now weigh 161. I feel healthy at this weight its just that I don't like the stomach pooch. I think 140 would be a good weight for me. So 20 pounds to lose? No problem! We can ALL do this. Good luck ladies! We are all worth it :)

welcome Kelly! That is awesome that you are so close to your goal! Keep up the good work. I think the key to losing weight is to eat consistently I know thats hard when your busy so i suggest maybe eating some whole wheat crackers or fruit or other easy snacks on those days when your out helping your husband. the workout and constant snacking will get your metabolism going and those last pounds will melt away. Good luck!

i gained 60 lbs too Melissa! I was huge but my baby was worth it :) i lost 20 right away and then gained 10 during the holidays. i am now down 26 lbs at 164 my goal is 140 so i am half way there! I get to see my husband in two weeks and I hope i can drop another 5. Since you just had a baby i would start with some nice easy work outs like talking walks and doing some yoga, that will get your energy up. Take it easy and we can all do this especially with one another's support.

Hello, group! My daughter is 15 months old and I have gotten within 5 pounds of my pre-pregnancy weight, which in my opinion, was a little on the heavy side to begin with. I was actually trying to loose weight when I got pregnant. Lately I've been more active, helping my husband tag calves and feed the cows and horses. I'm also going to try the Special K thing. Today, I didn't eat breakfast, which I know is not a good way to loose weight, but I was busy! So I had a big lunch, and then the evening was busy, too, so by the time I got to my lovely bowl of cereal, I was starved. So I also had chips and salsa! And tomorrow is so my cheat day... I have scads of workout videos, and my FAVORITE is Turbo Jam from Beach Body. Chalene Johnson is awesome! I haven't done it in a loooong time, but I've arranged for a sitter tomorrow so that I can clean my house, and I will take advantage of that and work out too. My weigh in yesterday was 148.2 and this morning was 147, so....Good luck everyone! Thanks for starting this group!

The really cool part of the game system... is that everyday you pick a different focus. Yesterday I did cardio, today I did core training. I tried the yoga segment, but I need to learn the moves first. It has a tutorial, but I needed to get done kind of quickly today, the little man was ready for a bottle by the time I was done. LOL But, I still feel sore, but I can feel more strength.

Thats really cool about direct tv thanks for sharing. I think its really important to mix up the work outs your right it does get boring! I agree with your husband about the scale thing. I know i obsess a little on my scale its just so exciting to see the number get smaller and smaller. I suggest you buy a tape measure and measure yourself once a month those positive results will help keep you motivated.

I started working out about a month ago, and was sore for the first 2 weeks... it gets better! Drink lots of water, and choose healthy snacks (I know, it's easier said then done) Then the key is finding a workout that works for you! I get bored doing the same workout for more than a few days, so movies don't work for me. I don't know if you have DirecTv, but it has a FIT TV Chanel. It has helped me TREMENDOUSLY!! It has a ton of different fun workouts. I start with Yoga for a warm up, then do a 1/2 hour workout or two, (depending on how cooperative my daughter is) It's something different every day, and all different instructers so you can find one that works for you. I don't know how much I weigh, my hubby won't let me buy a scale (he doesn't want me to obsess about losing weight... he knows me too well) but my mom said I look like I lost weight! I am headed to Florida in 3 weeks and Jamaica in November, so I really need to step it up to get rid of this extra weight and my tummy pooch. Good luck everyone! I can't wait to get more tips

Well, today was the first day for the workout program and it is really cool. Unfortuntely is asked for my weight, measurements and then had me do heart rate resting and exercising and then it had me do some strength tests. Man, was I a sorry sight, but then it custom fits a workout program to your strengths and what your desired goal is. It is pretty cool. I worked out for 15 minutes and Man! am I sore!! Pretty pathetic, huh? Oh well, I'll just keep chuggin along and see how it goes.

Well Keisha i know what you mean about the tummy pouch. I hate mine! What i have been doing though that seems to help is flexing those muscles any chance i get. bending over to pick something up, when i walk, when i vacuum any time i think about it i flex and i definitely see and feel a difference. I have also heard of tummy bands that you wrap around your belly and it helps strengthen those muscles I haven't tried one so im not sure how well it works. I think the pouch is the last thing to go so just be patient with your self. We are all in this together and remember we can do this!!!

I know the feeling Keisha. But, pick a day or two every week that will be your "cheat day" and stick to just that day. The rest of the days really watch you diet. You will start to realize that you don't want to cheat every day because you have a couple of days to look forward to. The first couple of weeks are the hardest, but if you make a menu for 2-3 weeks (include your cheat days), it might help. I know it did me. When I had something to look at, instead of trying to figure out snacks (by looking in the cabinet or fridge) it really helped me stay on course. My hubby also made me a 2 week exercise schedule that I used. It really helped too. I hope this helps a little. I know how frustrating it can be. Just keep trying and find what works for you. Good Luck!!

Ive been trying to loose weight too. I gained about 40lbs with my daughter... she is almost 9 months now and it seems no matter what I do I can only loose 20 of it! Its not so much the actually weight I really want to change its the tummy "pouch" that I just cant seem to get rid of !! I also struggle alot with motivation. Ill be doing so great for a while then my body will just somehow outpower my mind and demand some junk food then once I start I cant seem to stop for the next week! ahhh

I eat lots of carrots and apples! Celery to. I heard that the act of chewing and digesting celery takes more calories than it has. I think the hardest part of dieting is starting. After a week you feel so good and proud of yourself you want to keep it up and you do.

Oh!! For snacks... carrots and apples are great!! They make your body think that you are eating more than you are. I just remembered that off a news article I read a couple of weeks ago.

I am on a controlled low fat diet. It actually has been fun, seeing how low I can go a day. I eat fat free plain yogurt, then add a little sugar and some fresh fruit. I can eat that all day long. I also stayed on a multi-vitamin and extra B supplement (its for energy and helps with metabolism). Since I am a stay-at-home mom, my wonderful hubby, made some exercises I can do at home. Like leg lifts, some boxing and kicks, crunch combos and things like that. I am not sure if I have lost weight or not, but my shirts look a little better on me and my face looks thinner (I think??) I afraid to step on a scale and see that I haven't lost any weight.
I know how you feel Alexandra about the skinny woman driving me crazy... they should put real people on there. Kara some exercises that might help are just stretching. I know for me when I feel really lazy just doing modified toe touches or arm circles gives me a energy boost. Good luck to everyone!! We can do this!!

remember slow and steady wins the race. Be patient with your self and remember you can do it! I have found that the more active i am the more happy and proud of myself i am. Start with a 10-15 min workout in the morning i like jumping rope and running in place, jumping jacks, toe-touches... anything to just get my heart rate going. Sometimes i turn on some music and dance around with my baby. i have a workout video i use sometimes but the skinny lady on the screen annoys me.. i'm thinking about joining a yoga class i just don't really have anyone to babysit.

Hello! so nice to meet you i think we can help motivate each other and hopefully others will join. So far i have been dieting for 32 days! down 11 lbs so far. I wish i was losing more but i know its a process. I drink only water, except first thing in the morning when I drink 150 calories worth of some sort of smoothie I like green machine by Naked juice. i wait a couple hours and eat a small breakfast followed by a small lunch, small snack and a small dinner. I think the key is portion control and eating continuously to keep the metabolism going. I totally get it about the eating from being board thing. I would catch myself walking to the fridge and i wasn't even hungry! I TRY to exercise twice a day i dont always succeed... i really want to lose 15 lbs this month!!!

WE CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
