Hello, I am 41 and I am back in school to get my bachelors in nursing. I have a 13 month old baby and that makes it a challenge, but I am doing this for her future as well. I think women can be amazing and resourceful creatures, I believe that with hard work and perseverance one can accomplish what is dreamed.

Hello, my name is Kristi, and I started back to school for a 2-year degree when I was 40. I had 2 children leaving home at the same time, one for school and one for marriage. I still have a teenager at home. Once I started to get the hang of school again, I switched to a 4-year college and have been working toward finishing up my BS in Psychology. It looks like I should finish in 2 semesters, barring nothing goes wrong, and will continue on to graduate school to earn a Masters in Occuptional Therapy. I am so excited about school. Although I have had a few tough semesters, I am pleasantly surprised to find out that I did better than I thought I would after all these years. Good luck to all you other moms who are going through this :) Hope to hear from moms who have reached the other side and are now happily employed in the profession of their dreams!

My Name is Stephanie. I am 33, and I went back to school when I was 26. I had two years of undergrad done before I had kids and I always wanted to finish. I am a history major at IUPUI, which for those of you who are not familiar with Indiana colleges, is Indiana University and Purdue University's combined efforts in Indianapolis. I will begin my master's thesis in a few weeks. For me, after seven years, going to school, working full time and raising kids all at once just seems natural. I wonder what people do with their time who don't do all three.

I am in my mid 30's and i am going back to school. I always preach to my kids the importance of college and decided i needed to set a good example. Plus I get paid pretty good but i don't like what i do now. I want to be a therapist for abused kids!

Hi, my name is Rachel and I went back to school for Respiratory Therapy and I will graduate in Dec. 09. I have a 13 year old son and times have been hard, but we have almost made it. I almost forgot to tell you that I am 31 and will soon be 32 in Feb. I am sure that I have it a little easier since I have only one child and he is a tennager. Hi all! I'm new here and looking forward to hearing other's experiences with this. I went back to college at 41 to complete my studies in Music Vocal Performance/Jazz Studies and a minor in Psychology with the plan to continue into Music Therapy after receiving my BA. I have one more semester after this one and I finally have my bachelors!! I also work part-time nights and weekends as a public safety dispatcher (I tell people with guns what to do) and homeschool my two sons, ages 5 & 12. I'm trying not to completely lose my mind!

well i am doing courses via distance learning. The reason for this is in switzerland they do not have any universities which have courses in english..

HI my name is kim and I am 40 I have 8 children and started school TODAY for social work as well. I am attening university of phoenix online and will have my associates in less than 18mos, I am worried about keeping up but excited!!
