It's on my mind a lot..especially since my parents are the only grandparents my son has and they are both elderly but spritely!
My mom is 89 and my dad just turned 91 and they just love hanging out with the wee little one. Mitchie is their 5th grandchild and the only child that we( the only daughter in the family) are going to have..I hope that he remembers them when he gets older.
He loves to see them now; but I am still worried about the future..
I just try and enjoy the moments now.

I'm so glad to have found this room, too!
I had my baby boy when I was 43 and am really enjoying motherhood!! I waited a long time to get married and then this little joy came into my life-in the prime of my life:)

I am 51 with a 10 1/2 year old girl. Both of my parents died by the time she was in 2nd grade. Moms -- Does the aging and loss of parents worry you? Sometimes I feel so alone with this. Sue.

I wanted to know how things are going for you I am going through a similar experience. I have six kids and still would like another one and it seems like it is very hard to get pregnant after 40. I will be 41 in a couple of weeks so let me know.

LOL! I didn't even pay attention to the date you posted. I haven't been on here in quite a while. Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Hi Leslie-
That is great! I had my daughter on my 41st birthday October 30, 2002. There is alot to be said for being an older mom. I don't sweat the small stuff like I might if I was younger.

I too was 40 when married for the 1st time and had my one and ONLY daughter at 42yrs. I love being an older mom but I tell u what..... they sure wear you out. Especially when they are in their "terrible two's" !!!

Hello All!

I'm excited to see your posts as it gives me hope. I'm now 41 and have two boys - oldest one is 15, young one is 2 (my second marriage). Both those pregnancies went very well and both times I fell pregnant relatively quickly. My husband wants us to have another child and I've been off contraception for a year and a half and had no luck! Feeling a bit disappointed and blame myself and my age!! (I read that the chance of falling pregnant drops to around 20 percent at this age.....)

It is so nice to see other moms over 40!!!  I got married at 40 and a few years later we had a baby LOL First time married, first baby LOL I am loving motherhood soooo much!!! !I wouldnt trade it for the world.

I think you are right about it being different when you are over 40 as opposed to when you are younger. I think I made the right choice!!!! LOL

Hi Leslie: I can beat you on that one. I was 44 when my first and only child was born. He is now 12 1/2. You see, as an older mom, you always stick in the 1/2 years, so they grow faster. And yes, he is my reason to get up and go every morning.

Me too! Just had my first (and probably only) baby at 43! He's almost 9 months old now. I think motherhood is very different after 40 than when you're younger!!!
