I think the worst moment was when a little boy ask if he could talk to me I said well yes ....He said it was important ( he was 4) so I smiled and said ok... he told me his mom had a boy friend that could only come over when his dad went fishing because his dad would get mad...I was shocked but tryed not to show it.. I said oh... then that little man looked me right in the eye and ask what I thought about it...what was I to say??? should I tell him to ask his dad ??? what about his mom ??? I took a deep breath and ask him what he thought... He said he thought it was wrong.. I told him that I thought for him it was wrong.... he smiled and said ok... then went to play...

when mom came to pick him up I told her she said he was too young to understand.. I said than your not having a afair... she droped her head and said maybe he does....

WOWZERS...oddly enough both of those things have happened to me. Thankfully they were when I was still working in a center tho and not in my home.
My worst childcare moment...was probably when a 2year old who was being pottytrained urinated on my carpet. he was in a pullup and had just sat on the potty when my 3yr old came running over and said his freind had pee'd. I checked his pants and they were dry so didnt think much of it. As the day went on I kept smelling urine but all the kids were changed or dry. About 30mins b4 our day ended I found it. He had moved a large bucket of toys, pee'd under it then put the bucket back. There was sooooooo much pee. he had pulled down his pants and went. From that day on he was in underwear and never out of my sight. :)

I used to run a toddler room in a childcare cente (24 2 -3yo), one year we had the majority of the group as girls and these girls used to get into trouble and mischief all the time lol!!! One day, when when we were outside, a group of 4 girls hid under the slide, I knew they were there and checked on them about every 5 mins, in between my checks, they all took their clothes off and wee'd all over them, don't know why, but they did it and even bragged to me about it when they walked out naked, it is amazing what kids can get up to in a short space of time!!

Another year in the same room, I had nearly all boys!! That was my most challenging year ever lol!!! We got a broken arm, 2 split heads, lots of biting and hitting, the list goes on! The one incident that really stands out is when 2 boys were playing under the slide, again I knew they were there and I checked on them several times, but again there was mischief! These 2 boys actually both poo'd under the slide, which I did not see and then they kicked it out into the middle of the tanbark and laughed when other children walked through it!! I realised what they had done after 3 children had walked in it!! Amazingly, I loved the chaos that this group bought in every day and still to this day speak with a lot of the families and children and they are all 10 and 11yo now!!

On a cleaner note lol, the hardest thing I worked through was children starting and them not being able to speak English!!! I had a 2yo girl start the could only speak Italian, and a 2 1/2 yo who could only speak Finnish!! I don't speak either of those languages, so it was very challenging, a great learning experience though!!!

Recently have a new child join Kids Time and she is only 16 months so there were tears for a few days. One day she actually cried and vomitted on me. I happy to say that she has adjusted and is very happy now. No more tears.
