Talk about a triple whammy! I was first diagnosed with ADD when I was in 2nd grade. My mother worked extensively with me on behavior modification and with the help of meds and hard work on my part I managed to grow up, go to college, get married (and divorced) and have two kids. Life was bumping along with all the ups and downs of being a divorced mom with ADD. Some days good, some days just making it through was enough of a victory.
A few months ago I realized something new was going on with me heath wise, I was edgy, angry, had low energy, couldn't get off the couch, didn't want to play with the kids... the list went on. I first thought it was due to hormones and birth control. After realizing that was not the problem I went to my doctor and got the diagnosses of depression with anxiety disorder. The peaces fell into place. Not only was I battling my ADD the new stuff was making me feel horrible for my short comings. I went on Lexapro and a month and a half later am feeling much much better. Now dealing with the ADD (for which I'm not on meds, I take herbal supplements) is a lot easier. The point of my story is, ladies: If you feel something isn't right, talk to your doctor. It may be more then your ADD AD/HD. And as we all know living with that is hard enough. Help is out there and it makes life so much better. Best of luck to my fellow ADD AD/HD ers. I'm on face book all the time and am here to chat if you need. Have a great day. God Bless. Teresa
