My son collapse about three weeks ago I did not know what it was as he is celiac as well I thought that he had eaten gluten and was having a reaction. The ambulance had to bring him back (sorry cannot spell resusatate? ) him I felt helpless, alone and terrified that I was going to lose my son. The thing is the doctors have not said he has Addison disease but have written it on his blood test forms but they also put CAH? the symptoms are the same are they not what is the difference? There is know support group in New Zealand and it is a rare disease so if any mother would help through this process and maybe get in contact feel free thank you.

Yes it is good to talk to someone about this as there is no support group here for New Zealand and it is relatively rare disease. As for CAH that has more members but they will not help as Sean has not been diagnosed with it which is disappointing any way I catch you the kids need to go to school. Oh Sean just turned 8 years old and he is my eldest son Brody is 6 and will be 7 in May and my daughter is 3. I am a stay at home mum who is studying Environment and sustainability, my husband works in the Dairy industry making baby formula and hospital nutrionals.

hi Marilyn,

sorry to hear your scary story. I don't know anything about CAH, but my son has addisons disiase. how old is your son? addisons seems scary at first (and it is everytime he gets sick) ,but as long as you keep giving the hydocortizone(sorry if i spelled that wrong) he will have a normal healthy life. when he gets sick it calls for extra care and a few hospital visits in the beginning but you'll learn how to controll it after awhile. like i said i don't know anything about CAH but my 7 year old has had Addisons since birth. i don't know if this helped or not but all i can say is learn all you can about whatever it is that he has. This scary time is only going to make you a better and stronger mom and person. If you want to chat or have any questions feel free to ask.
