I'm new to this circle of moms. I have a Juvenile Diabetic son that has been diagnose for 2 1/2 years. He has been on a bumpy road we found out not long ago that he was also diagnose with Celica Disease.

He is 14 yrs. old and seems to think that he don't have to follow any rules.

Thank you,

Belinda Roark

Hi Belinda!

My daughter was diagnosed in 2003 with Type 1 Diabetes and I thought the world has come to an end! The is now 12 years old and she is going though the same thing as your son! She has been doing her own needles and testing for a few years but the last few months we took that responsibility back - me and my husband will do her needles for her know - seeing that she does not wanna do it! All I can tell you is hang in there! We just saw the pediatrician yesterday and she explained to my daughter that this illness is not going away and the sooner she understands that the better! She is going to Diabetic camp this year - she went last when she was 8 years old and really enjoyed it!

I have learnt through the years that you have to stay strong and keep on supporting your child - never give up!

Good luck
