My son Noah needs complex sugars to feel better during the day and has to constantly eat small meals or snacks to stay active or he will become lethargic and sleepy. The problem is that he doesn't want to eat that many times in a day. He prefers donuts over granola, chips over carrots and ranch dressing. Anything unhealthy over healthy at any time of the day. It is a tug of war to get him to eat all of his food on his plate and he is weighing 40lbs for a 6yr old. I want him to gain weight and become a little stockier but he picks what he is eating off his plate and that is the problem. If he isn't full he can not focus in class and will continue to do poorly. I make a healthy breakfast for he and his 13yr old diabetic sister within 60 carbs for her and he still gives me a problem. I am torn on how to satisfy both of them for their optimal potential for the day without all the fuss just getting out the house and I know that this school year is going to be the same unless I find a solution. Can you help?

My kids are not diabetic but I am hypoglycemic. I am so sick of eating snacks but if I don't I will faint. He's probably getting tired of the same old things. Can you give him soft granola bars, peanut butter crackers, Golfish, Graham bears, things like that? Does it always have to be totally healthy, is there anything that is a happy medium?

And my daughter is 8 and is just 43 lbs, but is short too so the Dr isn't worried. But her wrist is like an inch big, and leggings are actually loose on her. I hope you can find something to help you and your son be happy with his snacks.
