I ditto the toboganning. Board games. Museum. Bake cookies (and of course, lick the bowl and beaters). Bundle up and walk to the library. Rent a fistful of videos (less solitary than video games), watch with popcorn. Make pudding and have a "carving" contest in the pudding.

Sledding! We love to do it! Board games are fabulous. Wresling in the living room is pretty popular here. hehe! Turn on some music and jump around. Any kind of painting is fun, as long as it's a little messy boys love it. I will add more as I think of things.

Tonight my three year old son and I made paper airplanes then threw them off the upstairs landing. This was fun and kept him entertained going up and down the stairs. He also loves to be on the computer and play games on Noggin.com (like I don't get enough Noggin on TV, now it's on my computer). My husband has also bundled him up and they go out playing in the snow and go sledding.

My 5 year old boy LOVES his Lego (plastic building blocks) and has done since he was 3... His father and uncles still like to play too! All kinds of building blocks/ construction play things - wood/plastic/metal are great for imaginations! Even if just wood off-cuts with sanded edges - become roads/ air ports/ towers....
And when he's not being quiet and solitary with his Lego and blocks - my boy loves to get energetic with his dancing!!! Again - he's been dancing since before he could walk.... appropriate for any age!!
