Sookie & Finn DVDs have been developed as a result of extensive research and working with a paediatric speech and language pathologist.



The films have the following characteristics which promote expressive language production and vocabulary acquisition in children:



•Simple dialogues

•Narration

•Repetition

•Actively involving viewers, giving choices



Because Sookie & Finn films are based on the daily routines of typical children, it is very easy for little ones to relate and the vocabulary introduced is highly relevant to the daily life of your child.



At the end of each scene, there is a summary section where an adult repeats the target vocabulary against a background of fragments from the film for increased retention. In each episode there is also a familiar nursery song built into the story to maintain engagement

Ladies



I have a 3 year old daughter who has speech delays as a result of a condition she had when she was a baby. To help her with her speech development, alongside her regulat speech therapy sessions, I was looking for some good DVD products. However, all I could find were either DVDs for very young children which were unengaging for my daughter or some really dull films which showed image after image while repeting the words.



So I decided to create my own films working with my daughters speech therapist. My daughter can is a testament to ther DVd's success as the words and sentence structures I have intended to teach children are part of her regular vocabulary. In addition she is now starting to sing some of the nursery rhymes.
