I was really struggling after my miscarriage, emotionally but also physically. I had a lot of questions that went unanswered so I thought I would share my story in hopes that it would help others.
I miscarried completely on my own. The ultrasound proved it. However, it has been 2 months and I have not stopped bleeding. There are days where it is more spotting than bleeding, days where I think its finally over, days that I bleed through my super tampons and onto my pants, and mornings I wake up with bloody sheets. Sorry if thats too much... But I feel like when you are going through this, you just want as much information as possible.
A week after my miscarriage, I started taking my birth control again to help regulate my hormones and get back on track....
I went to my doctor within the first 4 weeks multiple times and was told this was all relatively normal as there is no true norm. My Hcg levels were still very high although I was only 6.5 weeks when I miscarried. By 7 weeks post-miscarrage, my doctor had given me another ultrasound to make sure everything was in fact expelled and I was healing. He said this was the case. My HcG levels were still 53. By 8 weeks, I was in a lot of pain and had an ovarian cyst rupture... And my Hcg levels were 30... They were definitely descending but very slowly!
Its now been 9 weeks post-miscarriage and I am still bleeding. In fact, I woke up the other morning to a spot in the sheets despite a tampon. Headed backed to the doctor in a few days to see if there is anything they can do to stop the bleeding...
If you are still bleeding and its been a while, go to the doctor. But also know that some people just respond that way. My previous miscarriage was done within a week... This one.... not so much.
