anyone been put on progestrone to try to prevent miscarriages

i have a 2 year old daughter and since then ive had 2 miscarriages and am now 5 weeks whole weeks pregnant ive been put on progesterone hormones to try to keep me from miscarrying. Has anyone else been put on this? if so did u take pills, vaginal hormones or creams?

pills, and it was very early i pg. My doc put me on the pills because my hormones weren't doubling and my progesterone was low.



I lost it anyway. Unfortunately. His thought is that maybe the pg was just not meant to be viable anyway.



In the future, unless I have reason to believe that the low hormones are the CAUSE of the problem, I won't take it again.



I had an extremely hard miscarriage (very messy!!) and took my body several weeks to miscarry naturally. (which was my decision)... Due to the extra progesterone and all.



But if they think low progesterone might be WHY you are miscarrying, yeah, go for it. There's not really any huge side-effects.
