My hubby started working as a prison guard now for 2 months. The first 5 weeks were training. He has been content w/the way he looks and always said he didn’t need to impress anyone. Now he wants to work out hard core and says its for the job, so he can be fit in case he gets attacked by an inmate and he said to be a better looking husband for me. Hmmm I questioned it and asked if it was really for the job or he just wants to get ripped to get attention. (Ex: mow the lawn w/o a shirt and show off @ a pool/beach) Maybe I’m over reacting and he just wants to get healthy. He isn’t fat to begin with but has a small gut. There’s nothing wrong w/someone trying to workout and be healthy, but to get ripped like a gladiator out of the blue just because of the new job is a red flag to me. So, I started working out too. This way I see it as even. After two babies who are still young I’m not in the best shape, so my thought process is to get toned and slim. (Not model wafe slim, healthy slim) I don’t want to be the frumpy wife standing next to a ripped hubby. He said it’s insecurity and I shouldn’t be. However, everyone knows that working out to completely change your body is not the norm. Am I over thinking this?
