I have a 10 year old boy who seems to have lost his brain! Recently, I have to give him instructions step by step, cause anything more and he is forgetting what he is to be doing. I think this is pretty normal but wondering if puberty is on the horizon? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Ann, that is exactly what I am going through! He seems to follow my chore lists pretty good. so I will definately try giving him his own. I usually set the timer on my oven, but with 3 smaller siblings that doesn't always work. I am at the point of pulling my hair out some days. Thanks again!

My 11 year old boy is exactly the same! I have to give step by step directions too. One step at a time, wait for him to finish, ask him if he knows what he has to do next, then 9 times out of 10, I need to tell him the next step. It feels like having a 2 year old all over again. I had to start leaving lists for him with the directions on it so he can cross out the things that he has to do. I give him a certain time limit to finish everything and he gets rewarded with something like his favorite snack if he finishes. It seems to work most of the time. And it helps from making me feel like pulling my hair out.
