My daughter was 8 when she lost her first tooth, she has still only lost 6 teeth total so far (she is now 9 1/2). This means they are very strong. Don't worry, he will lose them when his body thinks it is time. Be happy because he will have nice strong adult teeth!!

Yes, it is normal. My 1st born didn't loose his until he was nine. At 8, the dentist pulled 2 front ones out b/c the other teeth were growing out. And it is a good thing b/c those kids that looses their teeth late means that they will also loose their teeth late in their golden years.

no worries. I didn't lose my first until I was 7, and my second until I was almost 8. :) but they did all come out and grow back in eventually. :)

My son turned six on the 16th...still hasn't lost a tooth. At his last dental appt about two months ago the dentist said he had a couple of loose teeth..but they are still intact.

Its ok, my daughter didn't loose her first tooth until she was 7 almost eight. I did take her to the dentist and get her dental exams regularly starting at 5. So it is ok that he hasn't lost any at 6.

According to my sons dentist it's rare but normal for a child not to lose teeth right away. My 7-year-old had x-rays done on his teeth just a couple months ago. His dentist usually prefers to wait til a kid is older but due to some concerns resulting from some dental problems in my family it was done. The dentist said that my son will be waiting atleast a couple more years before he starts losing his teeth. So there's no need to worry, however if you're still worried just talk to your dentist about it.

It's normal. It will happen when it happens. Be thankful that he is growing such strong and healthy teeth.

I agree, it's a good thing. Both of my daughters got their teeth really late...we're talking 14 months and still no sign of baby teeth. But our doctor told us that was nothing to worry about...that their baby teeth would eventually come in...that they would fall out later (oldest lost 1st tooth at 6 1/2 and youngest will be 7 next month and all baby teeth are tight as a drum!)...and that their adult teeth would be healthier and last longer. I know awaiting the first visit from the tooth fairy can be excruciating...but hang in there...it'll happen!

My dentist said the longer they keep the baby teeth the better. It will make his adult teeth stronger.

Nope, it's okay! I didn't lose my first tooth until I was almost 8. You can get him a dentist appointment to check for cavities, though, at his age.

My son Quintin is 6 years old too and has not lost a tooth yet. I took him to our dentist and he said he should be loosing teeth by now,my daughter Morgan never lost a tooth on her own they all have been pulled out or as the dentist said "wiggled out" I would just see your dentist and see what he or she says. Hope he looses a tooth soon!!!

Thanks for listening, Joanie

PS: my son Quintin is scheduled to have his front 4 teeth pulled next month.

It's very normal. Just as kids don't all get their teeth at the same time, they don't lose them that way either. They will come out when they are ready to.

count your lucky stars. That just means that all thier adult teeth will last longer. Trust me that is a good thing
