So...my husband & kids bought me two beautiful hanging flower pots for Mother's Day. This morning I go to water them as usual and I was completely stunned...they were gone!!! Someone had actually had the gaul to come up our front porch steps in the middle of the night & steal them right off our front porch!!! I couldn't help but cry because they mean't alot to me since they were such a thoughtful gift...now I just feel gloomy...sad & disappointed. My husband said not to be silly because they are only flowers and he will replace them but I still can't help but feel invaded. Just wondering if this sort of thing has ever happened to anyone else?

Jennifer, how awful, especially since your husband is away. I agree Lori, its terrible how we have to be afraid to leave anything outside ever. I am constantly telling my son not to leave his bike, scooter etc outside if hes staying in. You just never know.

I had someone walk up to my front porch and steal my snow shovel during the night. I could see their footprints walking across my yard to my front door. I tried tracking it but lost it halfway in the streets. It sucked because it had snowed during the night so I really needed it. I've also had my house egged once which broke a large storm window and later had my patio door glass broken when someone threw a brick through it. I think it because my husband used to be a cop before he got a job as a civilian bomb dog handler in Iraq. He used to work nights as a cop and during his lunch breaks his patrol car would be out front. All this happened after he left the police dept. I think it was probably some teenagers he's arrested before that lived in the area. It sucked because I had to deal with it while hes in Iraq. Thankfully we've set up several cameras now and a few of the cops have patrolled around the house since then.

Laura, sorry to hear about all that...I just can't believe there are such thieves amongst us!!! It's so pathetic that we have to lock down everything now-a-days and have to worry about things getting stolen right out from under us!!! Now, I'm wondering if I should tie or chain down my wicker furniture that's out on our front porch or else that might get stolen to!!! And I was going to buy these cute matching cushions for the set but today I decided to just cover the old set with fabric I already had just in case they would get ripped off...sad isn't it?!!! Well, at least I saved some money and they look nice regardless...but hopefully not TOO nice! lol...Lori. :)

that happended to my brother once around halloween. He made a scary person of sorts sitting in a chair on his front porch, and someone stole the mask he used for a face, it was a rather expensive latex mask too. My house was robbed once, and once I forgot to lock my car(it was in my driveway) and all my cds were stolen. It's a horrible feeling.

Thanks Jill...and I was very angry to! I can't believe the gaul of some people. I mean I try to be a good person and treat people with respect and give everyone the benefit of the doubt but then something like this happens and you realize that there are people out there that you can't trust at all...it hurts! And it's not like I'm super rich and have tons of flowers everywhere...but I take pleasure in the little things and I always try to be grateful for what I do have. So, I can't believe they chose my porch to steal from! grrrrrrrrrr!!! I just wish I could've caught them in the act...but it never works out that way! :(
