Hi everyone well im very embarassed about something that has happened and I need someone to tell me its normal or its not and I need to get my son some help???!!
My son is 4 and has a 3 yr old friend they were having a play date and were found playing with each other???eeekkk this has never happend before and I condsider it a one off??But im freaked out about it and feel like the other wee boys mum thinks my son has done this as an act of child abuse???HELP I tend to think it was normal for them to explore each others 'bits' but as when she walked in it was my son doing the playing he is being labbelled. anyone else out there no more than me about this kind of thing??

Fairly normal, but definitely time to teach your son that his privates are PRIVATE and that no one outside of close family and the doctor should see them and no one should touch them without permission and a reason (like help in the tub... if needed... or by the doctor if there's a problem).

It might be a good idea to closely supervise him until you're fairly certain that he's fully grasped this concept.

I'm not sure what you can do about the friend. I can understand her reaction to a point, but hope she will realize that stuff like this does happen and it frequently doesn't mean anything more than the kids need to be taught a little better and supervised a little better. Curiosity is NORMAL.
