charter schools in Illinois at least the one my children go to is more structured and disciplined than public can do research of the differnce online.....and you can research a particular school....look at the test scores versus the public schools....that is a good way to determine how good the school is or isn't

my daughters attend a Charter school , I love it so much I plan on them attending the Charter Jr high when they complete elementry school. They are typically smaller than public schools. They also tend to have different grade configurations from other public schools, such as kindergarten through grade 8 or 12, and ungraded schools. Unlike public schools, some charter schools focus on a particular subject area such as math, science, the arts, or technology. I also notice that they do not tolerate the bad apples...its three strikes and you're out at my daughters school. Which I think is good because then the kids that are serious about learning can continue with out the bad apples distracting them or interupting the teachers and class. And if your child is ahead of everyone else they don't make them sit there bored waiting for everyone else to catch up - they let your child go ahead and give them more challenging work.
