Does your child think they are fat but are not?

My child is too young to be worrying about their weight, especially because she does not have a weight problem. She is a normal healthy weight. Any parents out there who can relate?

For a while my 6 year old son was very concerned about becoming fat. It was extremely aggravating to me because he wasn't even at a healthy weight he was and still is considered underweight. When he went for his 5 year check up we had to go back after 6 months for a weight check up because he was in the 5th percentile for weight, at 5 1/2 he had gained a couple pounds but dropped down to the 3rd percentile. At his 6 year check up he again gained a couple of pounds so he was at the 10th percentile for weight. He is no longer concerned about becoming fat, we talked about making healthy choices for food, and be physically active. Now he's on a mission to hit 40 lbs. but again we still make sure he's eating healthy and not eating crap food, although some of what he eats still isn't the healthiest.
