Help 9 year old crying NON-STop and says she does not know why...

Alright I am literally beside myself right now with my 9 year old daughter. She has been an emotional mess the last two days. She is always been a "sensitive" child but the last two nights she has been put to bed like normal but coming down seemily having a panic attack sweating, crying, and literally freaking out. I ask what is wrong but she does not know but she is crying and crying. This went on for a couple hours last night and she started in again tonight and I am trying not to be upset but it is frustrating. She is not sick but doing werid things like putting on two sweaters then striping down to nothing (cause she is so sweaty). I have never had her act so out of character. Any advice anything ring a bell with someone of girls this age? Am I suppose to be doing something that I am not cause I feel like I am playing into a game right now.

im going threw the same thing w my 10 yr old girl,she sees a threapist for anxciety,but im thinkn its part exaustion and pre puberty,her sister started her girl thing at 11. are you on fb? if you want you can add me ,we can go crazy together lol Renee Patten ....my profile pic is marilyn monro

Sounds like hormones to me. 9 may sound too young but it actually isn't -- it's not at all unusual for a 9-year-old girl to be closely approaching puberty.

If it's happening only at night, it could also be night terrors. I never had them as a child but my little brother did, and one characteristic of them was that he never remembered, once he finally woke up, what had freaked him out so much.

Either way it sounds like a doctor visit is in order.

I understand where you are coming from. My SD (7) has been a crying mess as well. Not quite like your daughter but Im afraid shes getting there. If you tell her no or that she has to wait to do something she is a mess. This might sound weird but it may help you determine if she is pre puberty. The next time your doing laundry take a look at her undies. If you see any discharge in them weather it be white clear or yellow thats a good sign she in puberty or prepuberty. It wouldnt be a bad idea to take her to the dr though. This inst anything I wanted to hear and Im sure you wont either but....
Girls are getting their period younger now then they used to.
Best of luck getting to the bottom of this.

I know I have been racking my brain why she would be having anxiety nothing is changing at home. As far as hormonal I get it but just can not see it as I was literally 16 when I started my period so if you are anything like your Mom she is way to young. I told her I was going to take her to the Dr. because she was freaking out and she literally came down at 12:00am and asked if the Dr. office was open. She wanted to go because she had her heart racing so bad.

Sounds like either anxiety or hormones. She's getting to the age where her hormones could be running wild. I know it's not something you want to think about at only 9 years old, but it's not unheard of that a girl that young could be hitting puberty. At best, she's into pre-puberty, which can be just as bad.
I would suggest taking her in to see a doctor. They may be able to help regulate her hormones if that's what it turns out to be. And if it's not, they'll probably have other ideas for you :)
