Help!! How to help my kids with homework??

So this is EXTREMELY embarrasing but when it comes to my kids who care what anyone thinks.. so i am feeling very bad cause i can't help my kids with thier math homework and its not only that i don't understand the question but that i do not know how to do ANY math and here goes the embarrasing part i can't help them cause i don't even know my multiplications so i have a 5th grader and a third grader and i can't help them and it's killing me i have spoke with his teacher and confessed this to her but that didn't help i put him in any tutoring there is when its about math but he still has questions and i don't know what to do my 5th grader has adhd so thats another thing that doesn't help much any suggestions im very worried cause he goes to middle school next year and if i couldn't help in elementary how in earth will i help in middle school??

when I dont understand homework that comes home I put a question mark on the paper and send a note back to the teacher.... it is her job to teach it if you dont get anywhere with the teacher then contact the schools guidance counselor they will make sure the teacher is following through with it.

You can go to night school and learn how to do maths which would help you understand what your child is trying to do. Or get a family member to come and help you or tutor your child. There is no need to be embarassed lots of people are in the same position. Look at your local high school for an adult education programme that is the best place to start.
