help! my son won't eat veggies or fruit!

I tried to give him veggies several ways, but he won't touch them. He WILL however eat potatoes and bananas. that's it! everything else is pizza, or chicken, or spagetti with on sauce, or some kind of meat

If your son eats spaghetti sauce, make your own, puree veggies and put it in the sauce he will never know. My mother did this for years because my brother and I never ate cooked veggies. If you can hide veggies in something do it. Also don't always force cooked veggies, try him with cucumbers or raw carrots and dip worked for me and my daughter.

Every day offer him something, dont make a big fuss about it, just give him what everybody else has. My fourth son took till he was two till he ate potatoes and bananas, and like yours that is all he ate. Raw carrot was the next thing he ate, as he could dip it into different sauces, then apples as they could again be dipped in yogurt. If you are at all concerned, then you can buy some great chewable childrens vitamins now. I'm sure he will be fine, he will eat a variety of things in time. Just try to be calm about it.

Hi Dory

One way you can get veggie in the spaghetti sauce is grate carrot,zucchini. Any vegetable that is hard can be grated in it. My family love when I do not meat sauce. Also I have a banana or zucchini bread that kids love. You can try Spinach or carrot in your lasagna or even veggie lasagna. I found that some vegetables my children don't like boiled but steam so still abit hard they like and even raw. There are a lot of recipes that have a vegetable in them like corn fitter or biscuits. he eats more than my young one. You can hide so many veggies in spaghetti sauce so I would try that. (mine won't eat sauces). You can put all sorts of pureed veggies and he won't even know. Also bananas are good for him so that is good. You can also hide veggies in mashed potatoes (like cauliflower), or make "cheesy" mashed potatoes with squash and cheese mixed it. Another thing to try is milk "fruit" shakes. Bananas will disguise most other fruits that you put in.
