what is the home remedy for a 5 year old girl,for coughing when she goes to sleep only?

Is she bringing up any green phelgm? High temp? Just if she is then she could have an infection. Coughs are very troublesome as personally I don't think any over the counter medication works. I would make sure she is in a well ventilated room. Make sure she isn't laid flat and prop her up with pillows.

My son has asthma and coughs at night as well, cough syrups dont help all that much and what i have found works to eliminate coughs at night is to keep your house as dust free as possible and put a cool mist humidifier in her room while she is sleeping,

I used chesty cough syrup, which worked well :)
