The folder is a great idea and then stickers at home once they turn in the homework. My little one was putting the homework in the folder and then forgetting to put the folder in the homework bin. However, once I started putting stickers on the calender at home he was eager to get the stickers and we don't have to worry about the homework not being turned in anymore.

My kids' school has homework folders. When they finish homework, I put it in the folder and in the backpack. Not sure if the teacher makes sure they turn it in or not, but I don't think he's ever forgotten. Maybe a special folder like that might help?
