How do you stay organized

OK... so I am not naturally organized ( like my mom) : ( My learning style is Random, Abstract - for those who have read " The Way They Learn" by Cynthia Tobias.
So over the years I've really had to work hard on my organization skills. I make progress, but sometimes I feel that I could do a lot better, especially with time management. I am a very busy mom of 5 children. I home school my kids and I work from home.

So my 2010 New Year's resolution is - BE MORE ORGANIZED!!

I would love to hear what's worked for you in your home. Do you have little 'organizational tid bits' which maybe I could implement in my own home, and even in my business.

Thanks for the help and Happy New Year!

Winter...I keep a three drawer cart in the hall closet to keep gloves, hats and scarves. I also have little containers in the bathroom to hold hair ties and barrettes.

Organized? You and your silly dreams...

No, seriously, the best way to do it is to find a friend that has naturally brilliant organizational skills and ask her if she'd come over and help you organize your house. Offer to help her spring clean her's, watch her kids for free one night so she and her hubby can go out, or buy her lunch. Label everything she does and just maintain it. :) That's how I do it, anyway.

the fact that you work from home and home school your children, is truly amazing to me, I give you a lot of credit,,,,You have to be somewhat organize to be able to do that,,,I am a mother to five children as well, and I could never juggle both at the same time, I just wanted to say to you....two thumbs up !!!

It's an ongoing battle in my house, some days are better than others!

Check out Flylady and see what you think. I enjoy having things broken down into 'babysteps'. It makes anything seem a little more manageable.

I started in the fall making a meal plan for the week. It has helped me to know that dinner is at the very least planned and I have everything I need for it.

Good Luck!
