My older son is acting very stubborn these days. He would only listen on being shouted at sometimes. When asked to do something he has a million questions. He tries to act silly by saying things and when we say he shouldn't be talking or acting silly, he just says he is doing that to make us laugh. We also have a 6month old baby and we don't know if he is reacting to it by carving for attention. Please help,he is just 7yr old.

U have to just stay stern and very consistant. The sillyness is a ploy for attention so maybe if you. Show him that after he completes what you are asking of him you praise him with his own parent. Time were he get your undivided attention. Children love the parents they their hole world this is why a child will go to all extreames to get that attention good or bad.

My son is 8 and he acts the same sometimes. It drives me absolutely nuts. But I never make a big deal out of it. I think it's very normal for boys that age who could have all the reasons in the world to act that way. Just don't take him seriously when he acts like that and tell him unless he acts his age and logical you can't respond to him. That's what I do (besides yelling sometimes!) and it works. My son knows that I ignore him When he acts that way and that's exactly what he doesn't want. So he'll try to be logical.
After all, as mothers, we go through all different periods and phases, this is a phase too and it will pass.
