I have a 5 year old who has way to much energy, he is a very outgoing child who is loud and hyper the minute he gets up in the am to the minute he goes to bed. I hear it all the time "oh he is just a boy" My 2.5 is as calm and quit as can be!! Thank goodness LOL We have been nice and calm and we have been strict/stern.I just wondered if anyone had ideas or has delt with this.

I know some people might say adhd or add , but he can sit and watch tv or he play video games, read book or practicing writing for hours. I do not have insurance right now to take him to a DR. Is he going to grow out of this? Please Help ANY IDEAS OR THOUGHTS WOULD BE APPRECIATED!

I have been a pre school teacher for years and went to school for early childhood edd. This is so frustrating to me I had read a lil bit about some herbal remmidies I wonder if they help? I do know that part of it is that we live in MO and the kids are stuck in the house. He has so much built up energy I just need to find better way's to deal with it I guess???????????

I am sorry about my horrible spelling!

I have a nephew that has energy like this. They have altered his eating habits like you are talking about. They also bought him one of those little exercise trampoleens (sorry about the spelling?) that they let him go nuts on when he comes home everyday. I don't know if it will help but its a way to let your son burn that energy.

Corn dogs contain sugar, as do most juices. Carbs can cause an excess of energy sometimes (they do in my son). It's difficult to control the eating habits of one so young, especially when you're just happy to see them eat at all. :) Are there others who feed him? Father, grandparents, sitter? I don't have much trouble with getting my own kids to eat healthy, but I've had a lot of difficulty with my nephew. We recently discovered he will eat anything as long as it's crunchy. Does your son prefer a certain texture? crunchy? soft?

He is not a good eater, we have limmited the sugar, but he does on occasion have sugar cereal, he does eat a lot of carb's cereal, pasta, corn dogs, chicken nuggets ,an pj's are his favorite. he is not a big veggie or fruit eater. I do make him take a vitamin and he only drinks juice once a week if that. I do give him lot's of water.
