I am having a birthday party for my son on Sunday(he turned 8 yesterday--January 7th) and I need some ideas for a couple games for the kids to play indoors.

We live in Michigan and it is cold and snowy so I don't want them tramping in and out bringing snow in the house so we are trying to figure out what to do it will be about 12 7-8 year olds here.

It is only from 2-4 PM so I figured the first hour a couple games and then the second hour cake and ice cream.

I don't have a real big house either so I need ideas for some indoors games that doesn't involve alot of running around either.....Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Just think of 2-3 games: pin the tail on the donkey (or a related theme), pinata, a small scavenger hunt and something else. You figure pin the tail will take 20 min with 12 kids, a scavenger hunt with about 10 items will take 30-45 min and then cake, presents and grab bags will take up the remaining time. Don't forget to calculate transition time!

You said you don't want running around, but you can keep the scavenger game to 1-2 rooms pending on the size. If you listed your theme it'd be easier to help you out.

I.E if its pirate theme than 'Put the patch on the Pirate' instead of pin the tail. You can easily find the template online of a pirate and use black construction paper circles for the eye patches. It won't take more than 20 min to get it together.

My kids love twister! Its gets so funny watching them! Maybe have some kids playing that while the others are playing another game! Also you can ask all the kids to bring an old t-t t shirt and have everyone sign each others, Kids love that and its a fun memory piece too. just use sharpie markers or fabric pens! Good luck

I got this great kids bingo set. It has several different spinners and cards to match.

Or try a memory game. Load a tray with heap of household items uncover the tray a set amount of time then remove it and get the kids to write down (or draw) evwerything they can remember from tray. You can give 1 sweet per correct item per child as the prizes.
