Is it too soon for my 6 year old daughter to use deodorant? Should I be concerned/speak with her doctor about the fact that I think she needs it?

If you smell, you need deodorant, even if you're six. Earlier puberty seems to be getting more common; I'd be willing to bet she's not the only kid her age at her school who either wears it or should be. My DD (who is turning 9) doesn't yet -- she's one of those skinny kids -- but she has a friend who has had BO since she was 7 and who definitely *should* be wearing deodorant but, for whatever reason, doesn't. I don't think her parents are doing her any favours there.

Deoderant is bad for young children. Early puberty comes from what we feed our kids. I have changed to organic milk, the hormones that are given to the cows go into our food causing more hormones given to our kids and it puts them in an really puberty stage.

ur nvr to young to use deodorant...its a good habit to get into really...make sure its anti-perspirant/deodorant....my son is my oldest girls are 11 and 9 ive had them doing it off and on since they were little now they do it regularly my son is 5 and he does it just cuz daddy does he has his own as do the girls...its good for them dnt think itll hurt just get a kids kind, and if they make any for sensitive skin that would be the best route to go...good luck =) and as far as why she may need it so soon, it probably has something to do with her sweat glands bein more mature...could google it and get some ideas to ask a dr =)

Thanks ladies!!! I just wish I knew why she needs it already. She's not overweight & she doesn't have to even be all that active to start having an odor under her arms. I guess it's all a part of them getting older :) Do you recommend a particular brand(s) to try??
