I have a 6 year old boy and a 1 year old girl and lately my 6 yr old wants to have a bath with his 1 yr old sister. I dont let him and I am not sure if it is even ok for him to watch while i am bathing her. Please advise.

Thanks for all the replies. My brother and I were a year apart and we used to bath together as kids as well, just wanted to make sure it was ok to bath my 6 yr old and 1 yr old together.

In most cases, showers/baths between family members are not an issue unless one of the family members is uncomfortable with it. I bathed with my older brother until he was 6 and I was 3.
It's your call really.

Like Claudette said this is a personal decision, if it makes you uncomfortable then don't do it. My 6 year old son bathes with his 2 year old sister, we'll probably be stopping it soon though because they fight over bubbles and who has more room :)

There is no right or wrong answer to this. You as the parent is the only judge of this. I still bathe my 4yr old girl with her 1yr old brother. I think that once the 6yr old starts feeling self cautious about his body, then it may be time to stop the baths. Or at the very least, he is at an age that you should start talking about private parts and why he should not be taking baths with others. I hope this helps and good luck.
