my eldest has just started secondary school which makes me feel really old and my youngest p6.
i have found this year extremely hard for 2 reasons my baby is growing up far to fast every time i blink it is like another year is over.
and with the way the job situation has been every time they come home from school there is a letter asking for more money £25 school funds £32 swimming £25 p.e kit .

is anyone else feeling the pinch at the minute?
or have you found it hard to loosen the apron strings a little with you child starting secondary?

would really like to hear your views

It's difficult to loosen the apron strings. My son will be graduating high school in May and leaving home. It isn't as difficult as it could be because we have allowed him independence as he's shown us maturity and ability to handle it. We are blessed that he has been able to find good jobs in the summer and wants to take financial care of these things. Give your child some freedom and enjoy watching the maturing process (sometimes through a veil of tears).
