I was reading the posts about kids ages and bedtimes and was wondering if the times are different if both parents work outside the home. I have a 5 year old and 10 year old still at home (y oldest is 21 & living on his own)



I know in my case we both work, we get home with the kids around 5:00 to 5:30, dinner is usually between 6:00 & 7:00, then homework, family time, baths etc is at least an hour and a half every night, which puts bedtime at 9:00 - my 10 year old gets to then read until 9:30. During the weekday, they get up at 7;15-7:30. Weekends are more flexible, but they are usually in bed by 10:00.

I have a 6 year old and my husband and I both work.  It's tough, but we keep a strict schedule that gets dinner, homework, baths, and snuggle time all done by 7:30 (sometimes 8 if we're running a little behind) even though we don't get home before 5:30.  My daughter has to be up by 6:30 on school days so she really needs to be in bed by 7:30 most days.  It's a tight schedule so we usually enjoy a much more relaxed time on Friday and Saturday nights.  That's when she stays up until 9.
