MOM'S BEING "PROPER" MOM'S

I'm just wondering if I'm weird for thinking that moms don't have to be perfect? Reading the magazines and I noticed that when a mom goes out and drinks a few drinks she's being told "that not proper mom behavior". What is with that? Can't we go out and really let loose once in a blue moon?

I get youre point with some of this but my little guy has autism spectrum disorder and ive collected some pretty good advice not only about my little one but about my older son. There are some things that are pretty silly here but I guess the old "if you don't like it, you don't have to read/listen to/watch it" applies. So what if moms like to talk about being moms? Maybe we don't all have you're sparkeling personality or your apparently amazing self confidence but it helps to be in contact with other moms. It's a networking site, like a group of moms that are friends (just like in grandmas day) but with a computer.

I still can't believe this site is for real. I mean, really. Really.
I think this site is definitely made for a "breed" of women that exclusively think of themselves as moms and nothing else. Quite frankly it's sad.
I still think it's helpful for things such as what to do for colds, flu, diseases, viruses, etc. since that's what I primarily use this site for.
But come on, really? Half the stuff on this site is no-brainer questions that you gotta deal with yourself. Half the women on here need to woman up and realize there is no "proper mom", it's part of the gender stereotype.
I'm very golden age, and although women were expected to stay and be great mothers, it was just as easy to brush it off and be yourself. I think the grandparents generation had a better handle on that than nowdays. They were real troopers that figured out things for themselves and dealt with whatever they were faced with. Baby boomers ruined everything.

But how come after all this time and advancement in the understanding of a "woman's social circle" is that still looked down upon by others? Is it just that they don't understand this need or is it...just people wanting to put others down? Doing something we teach our children not to do. It's hard to teach your son not to think negatively about women with that idea being shoved in his face. It's like saying moms SHOULD stay home and not have the choices that we have fought to have.

You're awesome! I read about Kate Hudson not being the proper mom in In Touch this past week. It just annoys me. I don't get why it's perceived as a bad thing.
