Hi, We just made a big move from Massachusetts to South Carolina about three months ago, and I really don't know if we made the right decision. We made the move because we knew we wouldn't be able to buy a home of our own in Ma. My kids are having a hard time making friends and I'm having just as hard a time adjusting. I have been very depressed lately because of it and contemplating moving back. I just don't want to up and move the kids again. So I am stressing so much right now and could really use some advice.

We made a move from California to N. Carolina just last year. It took time to adjust...but just this last month I started making some good friends. My children made friends right away because we moved into a neighborhood of kids their age and of course at their new school. Do they have kids their age in the neighborhood? It's a hugh thing a big move. Give yourself time. Give your kids time and lots and lots of love and support. Look for a church or temple to connect with too. Good luck!

Hi, I live in South Carolina also. I am in Columbia I had a really hard time when we first moved here to! Its alot different than what we are use to. My neighbors are great they all had kids though which made it alot easier. Well if you want to chat or make a play date let me know!

I know it's diffuclt to move with children. My family has lived all over the country from Asheville, NC to The Grand Canyon in Arizona (dh is a park ranger). Our last move was the most difficult because our children were older (8, 10, and 15). Try joining a mother's group. We always make our best friends through church and through PTA at school. Give yourself some time, you'll get there it just takes time.....

No we aren't Christian, and thats part of the issue so many people here are its hard to get to know anyone without feeling like they are trying to convert me.

Are you Christian? If you are or even are not look to churches in the area. It make take time to find the right one, but they will make you feel welcome, help your kids with friends, and show you you are not alone;)
