Since birth, my baby has been observed to have skin allergies. Minor rashes on her skin. It was manageable. But when she turned 3, she suffered an atopic dermatitis. All her skin including her face was scaly, flaky, red and it peeled off. Worse part was that she did not stop scratching and cried for help. Doctor gave her oral steroids for few months. But she bloated so we stopped it. We fear that it may affect her mental development. Now at 4, she still suffer from this flaky, super dry face and she still scratches all the time. We gave her topical hypoallergenic physiogel AI cream combined with petroleum jelly. But she would resist. We alternate it with calamine diphenhydramine, an anti-itch lotion. It relieves her a little. For extreme episode, she takes benadryl syrup. Any ideas for remedies foe extreme dry skin and itchiness? thanks
