My son who is 7 is wanting a penpal that he can talk on the phone to,share emails,letters,postcards,and pictures with.He is a very smart kid and is just wanting someone he can be friends with.He has alot of friends at school,but I think this is a great idea for him to get to know other people who don't live here. Who knows...Maybe I can find myself a penpal in the meantime,lol.

Hi I have a 7yr old boy and 10yr old boy. I had a pen pal in another country my whole childhood and I have always wanted pen pals for them but never knew how to go about it. My son is now 9 years old but I would love to do this! I know my son would love to write to all of you!!! Please send me an email and we can swap addresses.... My son is seeking a penpal also and I found this after I googled penpals .
My son is 7 turning 8 next month and this week he has been asking about getting a penpal since his classmate has one.
We can do snail mail and this can be great for them

I love this post!! My son is 7 also and since he has learned how to read and write now he is always writing letters to make believe ppl. We are a Military Family currently living in IL but will be moving to Japan in 2 months. I cannot believe I have not thought of this (maybe I have gotten lost in all this technology..lol) a pen pal would be great for him! Thanks for posting this is a great idea!!

That sounds great. He is very excited to be able to write to everyone. He can't wait to get started.He said he wants to send pictures of himself to his new penpals so that they will know what he looks like,lol. you could also think about writing a letter to a member of the military that is stationed in the middle east.... my son did that through his school and LOVED it... and i think the service men and women do too.
