Oatmeal works great. Olive oil does to, but it might make their hair look greasy.

Try Paul Mitchell's Tee Tree Shampoo - I have heard that it is great & gentle for big and little kids!

Try Tea Tree Oil. Should be located with dandruff shampoo. Gently rub it to affected area. With each treatment you can loosen some of the cradle cap if there is any. It may take several treatments before results. My daughter had this until kindergarten. Hope it helps.

My 7 year old had the same problem...we did try all different shampoos & our Dr. said use a little olive oil. The only thing that really helped was (believe it or not) Walmart brand baby shampoo & a fine comb!! The olive oil DID work too.

You can get the tee tree oil shampoo and then used coconut oil on their hair. It keep the scalp condition and the hair strong and helps it grow. If your child has thin or straight hair dont used to much it will give them the wet slick look, just on the scalp. I dont were you are but u can get it from a caribbean store or Spanish store.

You probably have heard of this already, but just make sure that you get all the shampoo out of the hair and you should be fine. If not then i think Head and Shoulders should work best.

I use an ordinary baby shampoo for both my children. They both have dry scalps, but I found that though olive oil worked when they were younger, they wont let me go near them now that they are older. I also suffered from a very dry scalp for a short while and a very nice hair dresser told me to try to keep on top of washing my hair regulary and to use conditioner, BUT most of all use as LITTLE shampoo as possible. It actually worked so I tried using as little shampoo with my kids as well. The dry scaples they still have but it's become a lot less noticeable and more managable.

I found Body shop ginger shampoo very good was recommended to me not harsh at all and pleasant smell. If you ask in store they sometimes will let you have a little sample pot to try!

There are plenty of dandruff shampoos that don't smell bad and aren't harsh. Check out the Head&Shoulders line.

My son had the same problem, I would get selsun blue and put just a tiny bit on his scalp then take a soft baby brush and gently scrub the area. I had to do it about twice a week, but it worked!
