My son started Pre K last week and he wont be 4 until next friday. He is the youngest in his class. The first 3 days were terrible for me and him. He has never stayed at daycare or anything like that so he cried and so did I. Well, suddenly on the fifth day he walked right in and sat in his chair and ever since he has been fine... no more crying. It is tough to send your child to school crying like that but if you hang in there it will pass.

I dealt with that when my 5 year old went to preK last year. And I was an emotional mess. This is "my baby", my last one to start school, what was I gonna do with myself. I was terrified to leave her..."What if she needs me" "What if she's scared". Well, the first day, I walked her to her class and she cried a little bit, the teacher took her hand and guided her over to the books where the other children were and told me to leave, just walk out the door. I kept my phone with me all day just in case the teacher called me. I even called the classroom a couple of times to check on her...LOL...When I picked her up that afternoon, the teacher told me that my daughter forgot about me and by the time she realized I wasnt there, it was time to go home. That my daughter did great...she couldnt wait to go back the next day....and I was so relieved that she was ok. You will do just fine...unfortunately for us moms its all a part of letting go!!

AWWW! my youngest also started Prek last week. i cried when she cried that she didnt want to stay. i quickly wiped my face stayed with her until they took her to her class room waited for a little bit and left she stopped crying and by 10am she was fine playing with the other kids. My oldest had prepped her about what they were going to do and it made it easier for her. I stopped by at 10am to check on her with out letting her see me and the teacher also called me during her nap time. You could try that it will make the process go easier for you
