Hi there, Has anyone has come across this .... both my girls started growing lots of body hair (arms, legs, bit on back, touch on face) at 4 years. Just wondering if anyone else's child has had this happen? Does it worsen at puberty, stay the same or thin out at some stage? Im worried they have a lifetime of serious hair removal ahead of them. I myself have a few more hairs on my arms and legs then I would like but nothing outrageous. Theirs is much more excessive then mine. Hormonal testing is all clear. Genetics apparently although no one else on either side of the family has it. Would love to hear from some of you on this. Im hoping it will thin out at some point not worsen! Anyone whose teenagers maybe had this happen when they were younger. My girls were not hairy when born. Thanks :)

No, thank you! Like you said I'm glad I'm not the only one with a extra hairy little girl LOL I see it like this, as long as there's nothing medically wrong causing it (which there could be but i cant remember the name of it right now and its not very likely) our poor girls are just gonna have to learn some various hair removal methods a bit early which they would eventually have to do anyways. The women in my family have facial hair like chin and cheek areas! Fingers crossed i don't have that problem and hopefully wont have it in the future LOL

Hi Christine, thanks for your message. Nice to know we arent the only ones. The faces worry me the most. Im just hoping it may miraculously thin out at puberty but Id be surprised. :)

Hey Kelly!
Your not alone! I have a 5 year old daughter and she starts kindergarden in the fall. Anyways i took her for her physical last month and the doctor commented basically on how hairy she was and she seemed concerned. My daughter has always had a ton of hair on her legs and some fuzz on her lower back but we always just kind of joked about it like "she's a little monkey" LOL So then the doctor did the usual quick look at her "goose" as we call it and she had some thick fuzz there too, it wasn't dark in color. How i never noticed this before i have no idea. Sorry, so long story short i guess is that unless it starts to get really thick and has color to it (whatever color that might be) and is sprouting in the private areas and under the arms, my doctor told me not to worry and that she's probably just a hairy kid LOL
