Problem with my 8 year old's dishonesty

Would like some feedback on an issue that has come up with my 8 year old daughter. In the past few months, she has begun telling lies regularly..small (yes i put my things away) to blaming her sister who's 4, for things so she won't take the heat. Recently, broke something belonging to her sister, because she felt it was unfair that she didn't have one also. This is a new thing for her, it started a couple months before her baby brother was born. My thought was attention issues, but she's the oldest of 4 kids, and has never done this. Any ideas?

Alexis is also 8 and she is a new chhild these days she is mean and rude to her sister for no reaon and she talks back too much. Part of it is their age. They are testing us, they need to know we still care about them. Do you talk to her one on one? Remember its not always what they saw but what they dont. Good luck.
