School artwork...What to do with it all?

make your own scrapbook you could call it childhood memories with the school name the year how old you child was and a picture from that year and maybe a description of the year just a thought..

I have a scrapbook and I put all of his art from kindergarden into the scrapbook. The artwork that is too big for the scrapbook I keep in a big envelope

Keep some, Toss some!! I have most all my stuff from when I was in school from my parents, and what do you do with 3-4 bins of papers when you have your own family and kids?? Way too much junk to go through!! My thought is, I didn't "LOVE" going through it all years later and neither will my kids. I keep about 1-2 things per month so I can see progress and keep the cute holiday things.

I keep almost everything my daughter brigns home from school. I have a box where I put it all in. and when she gets older I will show all the things she has made when shes little.. That is what I am planning to do..

I save some of my favorite pieces and the rest goes in the trash. I have 3 children and can not possibly save everything and it turns into clutter.

Keep the best ones - i like to put them in a scrap book which will be given to them when they are older.
My youngest won a competition held by one of our local banks for a picture that he drew, this has been framed and hung on the wall.
Smaller pictures have been pasted onto cardboard and used as birthday cards for family and friends - their grandparents particularly love them.
Bigger pieces have been used as wrapping paper. My kids help pick out pictures to be used as cards and wrapping paper, and my family love to receive their gifts presented this way.

You could stick it up for a while to show her that you are proud and then you can file it. I still have things that my mother had filed from when I was in preschool.

You can have a book made of photos of the art work. Most sites like Kodak can do this. You can make one for each grade. That way that saves the memories and you know when they made them. Years will go by and paper will not hold up believe me my dad held on to so much paperwork and stuff I spent years trying to find stuff to recycle it all into something else.

I've decided to scan a lot of the pieces, and keep them electronically. My daughter is only in kindergarten and we don't have any more storage space!

Take pictures of it and then throw it away after a while. Keep the really good stuff. My mom kept a lot of my things and I LOVED looking at it as I got older. Now my little girls look at it :)

I have to say I have a large tub, that I keep in their rooms and we put all the art and drawings in that. I keep the special things that they make for birthdays, or mothers day but the rest go into the "work container". At the end of the year I tell the kids that they can keep 10 of their most favourite pieces. This usually ends up being a few of the scrap books and their portfolio from school and a few special pieces. The other pieces that they really love, they can use as Wrapping paper for gifts for friends or family, but the rest has to go

My children are 16,14,12 and 10 yrs old. So far I have kept everything each child has clear storage containers and at the end of the school year we look through everything and they store it away

I keep a few and throw away the rest. My mother kept all of my school stuff plus my three other siblings stuff and now 40 some years after me brother she has a BIG mess of papers and junk creating a fire hazard. LOL. I keep special ones, hang the on the fridge or somewhere like that, trade them out every now and then, but honestly, your kids will care less and by just keeping a few, they will forget the ones you didn't hang up. At least mine do..

You don't need to keep it all just the really special ones or you end up with so much - You have to think if they would really want it when they are grown up - it's nice to have a few things to look at from you're childhood but there's no way you'd be poring through boxes and boxes of the stuff!

i give my kids the choice of what they want to keep then we sit down an make a collage.But as far as thing that i find really special file them by the year.You can also try roatating a picture a week on the frdge then disgard it!

I don't. Lol...I feel really bad for saying that actually but it's a big mess and I don't know where the heck I would put it all! I have 4 children and if I saved absolutley every drawing I'd need another house for it all!! I think it's best to pick out the most memorable ones, or their favorites and get a special box for it all. We have one for each child and they call it their special memory box which is nice! :)

I have kept everything that my daughter has brought home from Kindergarten. Some people think it's crazy of me, but I find it to be memories and it's all special to me. Now of course when she is a little older I won't keep everything. It's all too cute and I feel I have to keep what my daughter brings home. I think it makes her feel special as well, that I care about what she brings home. But, I keep everything right now! It doesn't matter if it's artwork, where she has wrote her letters or done homework that has been graded and sent back. I keep everything. Don't feel bad if you do it too. You are not the only one!
