You cannot give them all equal time all the time. Different children need different amounts of time at different times. Right now, my 16 year old needs more time than my 9 year old - his issues are bigger and have a time limit (he'll be leaving home for college in 18 months). My 9 year old just wants me to play an occasional board game and paint her nails. My 11 year old is getting ready to come into a time of turmoil - the teen years. She will need a lot of time and attention to keep her on the right path. Just give your children what they need, when they need it and you'll be fine. I just keep reminding myself that during the hours that they are awake, they come first.

Oh my gosh if someone figures this out, please let me know. I am a single mom of three and never quite make the mark.

I completely agree with Tania. My kids are 11, 8, and 2 months. We play board games together or video game, whatever they want to do. When it comes to the baby, I let the bigger kids help out by holding him while i make his bottle or they help me bathe and dress him.

I always try to find something they each like to do and then we do it. Most of the time I encourage the other one to join the activity we are doing at least this way they are each getting the same attention and love.
