Yes around 5 is about the right age when they start to lose them. My SD hasn't lost any yet but I am already planning for it. I have a jar that I've been keeping my gold dollars in because I don't like to spend them. She thinks they are so pretty and always ask if she can have one. So when she starts to lose teeth that will be what the toothfairy brings her. 2 gold dollars for every tooth so she can start her own jar.

My kids started loosing their teeth about age 6. If you're concerned, I'd ask your dentist. When I was growing up, the Toothfairy brought us a Quarter, a Dime, a Nickel, and a Penny. For my kids, I do the same and add a Dollar coin. They don't see those often and think it's special. I put their tooth in a small bag. The toothfairy leave the money in that bag (actually a duplicate I swap) with a small sprinkling of glitter. I put a tiny bit of glitter under the pillow also.

In our house the tooth fairy leaves a toonie and a new tooth brush. But if it has a cavity they only get a loonie. They love looking for it.

No it's not too early, all the kids I know have been 4 - 6 when they started.
At our house it's $2 for the first tooth and $1 for every one after that.
Oh, and when the tooth fairy doesn't make it she leaves a tiny little note the next night!
Oops! Bad mum!

Yes, that is about the right time that kids loose there teeth. If you have the money 5 bucks for the first tooth, then 2 bucks for each tooth after that. If not on every tooth she looses, be cute about it, Ask her what she would like the tooth fairy to leave under her pillow, IE Small toys from the family dollar, 99 cent store. Be creative about it.
