I know this is long over due, but seeing that we are now fast approaching the 30,000 mark (and proud of it), I would like to say......\r\n\r\nHi and welcome. :D\r\n\r\nMy name is Jeanette and I\'ll be your, crazy due to lack of sleep, admin for as long as I am a member of Circle of Moms. I am a mother of 3, all under the age of 7.\r\nEverything is a new and strange adventure when it comes to you and your child entering a new stage in their life. It can be hard and sometimes overwhelming, especially when dealing with more than one child. It is wonderful to have so many willing to help one another and I am elated to see the board so active.\r\n\r\nTo anyone new at this, please feel free to start a new thread and post a response to others. This community is all about our new adventures and our past experiences of raising children ages four and up. \r\n\r\nI only ask that everyone be kind, caring, respectful and helpful to all. I hope everyone enjoys this community as much as I do. Have fun and meet new people. I’m looking forward to chatting with everyone.\r\n\r\n\r\nJean

Hi, there! I'm new to Circle of Moms and just figuring stuff out. I'm Karen. I'm 32 and pregnant with my first baby, due in October. I'm also a custodial stepparent to two little dudes, who are soon to be 6 and 8. They'll be a kindergartner and a 2nd grader for the next month or so. I'll also be a senior at Indiana University (IUPUI) for around the next five weeks until I graduate with a degree in Political Science, and I hope to be a freelance writer of a series of books for preteen girls, but my real passion is Middle Eastern Politics. I'm networking with my professors for a research assistant position. The extent of my writing while I'm in school occurs on my blog, which is about stepparenting neurotypical children while on the spectrum. I was diagnosed with high-functioning autism nearly three years ago, and my life changed forever.

I'm looking forward to jumping into some conversations and getting to know you all!

Thankyou so much for the welcome.

My name is Tamara. I am an Australian mum of two, a 9 and a half year old daughter and a 6 and three quarter son. I haven't really enlisted in participating in a parenting forum before but I live on a farm and feel rather isolated and have lately felt the urge to ask others if they are experiencing the same things with their children as what I am with mine.

I am looking forward to chatting with other mums, learning tips and maybe giving out a few also and with a little luck forging some great contacts to communicate with.

I too had the problem with my 15 year old boy not doing his homework, I simply told him that if he dont do it he would have to go back to a grade of that of an 8 year old and they would teach him again. The thought of going to school in a class of 8 year old children seemes to have done the trick as he now has no problem doing it, mind you, I did also tell him that 8 year old boys still wear short trousers at his school.

Thanks Jeanette for the welcome!

I'm Jo, a divorced mother of 6. 4 girls and 2 boys. Sure it gets hectic with a 15 (16 in April) year old girl, 14 year old boy (15 in August), 13 year old boy (14 in March), 12 year old girl (13 in October), 10 year old girl (11 in December) and 5 year old girl (6 in June) but I love it all the same!

I love talking to anyone with children of similar ages, so don't be a stranger & message or add me to your circles if you like!

Hi! I am a stay at home mom of a 4 year old who will be 5 next month. I am learning from her everyday! My daughter is extremely shy around anyone; but, at home she is as outgoing as ever. It has been difficult getting her to come out of her shell...we have been doing preschool this year and I'm hoping that will help. I love her more than anything....to me she'll always be perfect. ;)

Hello! I am a mom of a 7-year-old boy and stepmom of 3, ages 8, 10, and 12. I need help learning to parent my stepchildren, as they still wish their parents were together! My 7-year-old is quiet and relaxed, while the others are very rambunctious. It's just the way he is, I think. I wouldn't change how any of them are.. I just want to be a better mom to them.

Hello an thanku for the welcome also. I am a mother of 3. A ten year old that looks 13 an 7 year old twins that look 5. My ten year old is very hard to address sometimes because she is changing so quickly an I dont want to make any mistakes. She recently started her period, an she is falling out of her A cup. I didnt grow chest or begin my period until I was 15. I try my best to explain to her the changes she is expierencing but at the same time I want to keep her 10. Im afraid if I explain to much she will want to know more an although she is going thru that of a 13 year old her mind is still nieve. I want to keep it that way. I am new to my state so dont have any girlfriends going through the same thing. My twins are a little easier to handle they are so tiny for their age due to Sicklecell. They are all in the same school which is good but being a single mom its a little difficult at homework time, pulling myself in 3 different directions. And its hard to take that quality time out for each of them. Especially my 10year old. So all those moms who have kids around the same age an are expierencing that tug of war an concerns for those fast growing in betweeners please reply an give me advice. Thanku an its nice to have a community to bond with an share concerns.

Hello! I have a 7yr old daughter, just recently divorced, and moved from the city to a suburb. I have multiple sclerosis and my daughters acting up and her tantrums are getting worse. I know the divorce and relocating is a part of this, but her bad attitude and power struggles are remnants from the failed marriage days. I am looking forward to communicating to other moms in similar situations for support/advice.

Hello, I am a mother of two young girls ages 4 and soon to be 7. This Circle of Moms site is just what I need to keep my Mom-tools in check. What I have found as I do some personal development to start a business is that my mom did her best with what she had, but would have reached for the stars and back had she had her own circle. Thank you Moms!!

Hello!! My name is Tiffany and I have 3 children. The two oldest are both boys and in school.
My oldest is 12 and about to start his first year of middle school. My youngest boy is 9 (almost 10) and going into the 4th grade in August. He is hearing impaired (he can't hear in his left ear) and autistic. When he first started school he couldn't talk. By January he was using sign language and by June he was starting to talk. Now he all but refuses to us sign language, at least at home, and is talking almost all the time.
My youngest and only daughter just turned 4. She isn't in school but she still learns something new almost every day. What better teachers than to older brothers.

Hi i Just joined this group! I am a mother of 3, a soon to be 5 year old son and 3 year old twin boys. My oldest has been in preschool this year for the first time. He loves every minute of it and would go all day everyday if he could. All three of my boys have never been in daycare, we have been blessed with either working different shifts so one of us is there to watch the kids, or just recently I have been able to stay home more and only work 2-3 days so I can stay home with them. I will be signing my oldest up for full day kindergarten in 3 weeks. He will of course start in the fall. I also will be signing the twins up for their first year of preschool. We are in the potty training phase so hop to be fully potty trained by September. This means at least 2 hours of free time for myself, which I am so looking forward too. Not that I don't love my children, but i don't get free time to myself at all. My get aways are when I go to work for 4-5 hours 2-3 days a week, so to have a couple of hours were I can go tanning workout or shopoping I can't wait. I look forward to reading posts and getting much needed advice when i need it!

Thanks for the welcome. My kids are a bit older, but they are 11, 14, and 15 and in 6th and 10th grades. The middle skipped 2 years and the oldest will be 16 in 4 months.

All three are red heads, but Dad & I are also red heads, so we didn't expect anything else.

All three are gifted, the middle the most motivated. The youngest is being tested for Asperger's because he's showing more and more signs of mild autism. He's also highly gifted, but refuses to compete with his older brother. Ro is doing extremely well both academically and socially even though he's 2.5 years younger than his peers. It doesn't hurt that he's 5'6" and shaves already, even though he just turned 14 last Friday!

I have a beautiful nine year old daughter and some nights it is hard for her to stay a sleep she will wake up at midnight and can't go back to sleep, or we'll get up in the morning and she'll tell me how many times she woke up last night. She doesn't snore or have sleep apnea or any medical condition. She just does not get a good night's rest and the weirder thing about it is she 's not cranky or tired looking she's just frustrated, which makes two of us.Any suggestions on how to help a nine year old sleep through the night.
